![]() "Rail and Walk" The "Remembrance Walk" retraces the various stages of the confrontation between American and German troops during the Battle of the Ardennes on both Luxembourg and German soil. Nature has preserved the remains such as period graffiti and markings, trenches, the traces of tanks and bullets and grenades in the trees. Starts (17 km) in Bettendorf (castle), Hoesdorf (U.S. memorial), Reisdorf (information office) and Wallendorf (pont de l’Our). Clervaux - Troisvierges All along the path No. 40 Clervaux-Troisvierges (14 km, "Rail and Walk" railway guide, www.editionsguybinsfeld.lu) you will encounter many traces of the Second World War (monument made from a wreck of an airplane and six tombstones, a convent that was the assembly point for more than 700 Jews deported by rail to Auschwitz, a commemorative stone of the American liberation in 1945). Troisvierges - www.naturpark-our.lu ![]() ![]() The "Smugglers Route" illustrates the frontier situation of the region: the operations of the smugglers to Belgium in the surrounds of Troisvierges. The path retraces, in broad terms, the actual route taken by the smugglers with their protégés. Distance: 13 km with a 7 km version that includes the crossing of the forest and the border.
